When planning a funeral for your loved one. One of the things you’ll need to consider is transport - both for the coffin and for friends and family members. Vines Funerals are able to provide a wide range of funeral vehicles to convey your loved one on their final journey. All the information in this Blog and images have been taken from companies who supply these vehicles and their websites are available throughout this Blog for more information.
When planning a funeral, people are increasingly aiming to create a memorable event that truly reflects the life of the person who has passed away. For many, this means choosing transport that fits their personality or interests - from campervans for adventurers or surfers, cycle-powered hearses for those concerned about the environment to motorbike corteges for keen bikers.
This blog shows some of the ways you can create beautiful, personalised send-offs for your loved one.
Traditional Motor Hearse and Limousines
At Vines Funerals, we are fortunate enough to be able to provide high quality black Jaguar Hearses and Limousines. It is also possible to have silver.
Our fleet of specially-built hearses are perfect for those who want a fitting and stylish final ride, with our fully enclosed hearses protecting personal tribute items from the wind, rain and snow. We work closely with a company called Motorcycle Funerals, read all about them on their website Motorcycle Funerals - The UK's Premier Motorcycle Hearse Company
Horse drawn Hearse
With black or white horses to choose from, our service can be further tailored with your choice of procession; ranging from a modest pair of horses, traditional team of 4 or 6 in hand turnout to lead the funeral carriage. Our horses can be dressed in your choice of drapes and plumes including time-honoured all-black attire or joyful, bright dress in your loved one’s favourite colour.
We work closely with 2 Horse Drawn providers, who always provide a high-quality service.

Morris Minor Hearse
This Morris Minor hearse is an appropriate choice for anyone considering an ecologically sympathetic and ethical funeral. This vehicle has effectively been “recycled” having been completely rebuilt; creating a smaller carbon footprint than a newbuild traditional hearse. Part of the structure is from ash – a natural material which would be in sympathy with a woodland or natural funeral, for example.
Mini Traveller Hearse
“Bert” as he is affectionately known (a nod to Herbert Austin), is our green coloured 1964 Woody style Mini Traveller. “Bert” has been completely renovated by a Mini enthusiast and oozes charm and simplicity synonymous with the classic Austin Mini brand. Complete with a bespoke coffin deck, the coffin enters via the two rear barn doors and then rests along the passenger side utilising the full length of the vehicle. With its generous headroom (given its size) there is ample space for a floral tribute on top of the coffin. With the advantage of a seat for a passenger behind the driver, the final journey can be completed professionally in a classic vehicle which embraces a local brand and has an appeal to those who worked at “The Austin” or who have a passion for the British built Mini and an appreciation for all that the Mini was ever meant to be.
“Big Ben” is our fully restored Fairways London Taxi. Big Ben was manufactured in 1996 by the Coventry Taxi Manufacturer Carbodies (which later went on to become LEVC) and started life as an iconic Black Cab plying his trade around the nation’s capital.
Rolls Royce Hearse
Affectionately named “Bramwell” after the Dad & Grandad of the owners, our Rolls Royce Silver Cloud Mk 1 (1957) is a stunning piece of automotive history.
Ernie is our 1965 Volkswagen Split Screen micro bus. Originally from Ohio in the USA, Ernie started life as a mini-bus – supposedly the forerunner to the modern day people mover – and has since been imported, restored and commissioned as a fully functioning hearse in 2012.
Rolls Royce Silver Spirit
This Elegant Lady, part of the Ultimate Motor Mark, renowned throughout the world.
No matter what era, the Rolls Royce still turns heads whilst on its travels.

Hearses are all equipped with trestles, wheel bier & floral tribute mats. Chauffeur driven, attired in formal dress.

Tandem Cycle Hearse
This purpose-built cycle was designed in mind for the hardened bicycle enthusiast or just for a green environment footprint.
A favourite for the cycle clubs to give their team mate a wonderful send off.
VW Bay Window Hearse
Previously owned by Clare at Volkswagen Funerals before her retirement, now lovingly entrusted into our care, this unique funeral vehicle was a factory commissioned 'Leichenwagen' (Hearse) and coach built by a firm called Fritz Freckinger in Augsburg Germany in 1972. He is one of very few still remaining and the only one known to be in operation in the UK as a funeral vehicle, if not the world
Rolls Royce Limo
Affectionately named “Winnie” after the Mum and Nan of the owners, our 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith has an interesting pedigree. First supplied to the Mr Ferguson of the Massey Fergusson Agricultural machinery company.
Sometimes it’s not possible for those with mobility issues to transfer from a wheelchair into the passenger seat of a limousine. Our wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) blends discreetly with other vehicles used as part of the Funeral cortege.
Superbly finished in silver metallic paintwork our 6 door Wilcox coachbuilt Jaguar Limousines have 3 litre diesel engines with automatic transmission.
